The Company

The company is headquartered in Le Sueur, about a 2-minute commute from the Rineharts’ home. Staff consists of 12 long-term, dedicated employees who manage the countless, year-round details of design, product development, customer service, sales, packaging and shipping. The it takes two family of both past and present employees is a tight-knit group of caring friends who have shared each others joys and challenges throughout the years.

When the company was established in 1984, its entire line consisted of a collection of twenty-four 5 x 7 greeting cards which were sold to local, independent retail shops. Today, products published by it takes two include cards, stationery items, gifts and scrapbooking papers and stickers that are marketed internationally through retail shops, distributors and catalogs as well as online stores.

The Artist

Georgia Rettmer and her daughter, Kimberly Rinehart, are the founders of it takes two, inc., which started with 24 cards built upon Georgia’s unique torn paper art and Kimberly’s original verses. Artist, mother, grandmother, storyteller and inspiration, Georgia designs art featuring imagery ranging from her classic children to intricate florals. Every piece Georgia creates thoughtfully reflects the feeling of Kimberly’s words. Georgia and her husband, Forrest, live in Mankato, Minnesota. Their summers are spent at their A-Frame home on Lake Superior near Bayfield, Wisconsin. Georgia and Forrest have 4 children and 8 grandchildren who all love to spend time together!

 

The Writer

Kimberly has the privilege of working with the staff of it takes two daily. She also enjoys directing the company’s creative team of artists and continues to write or edit verse for all greeting cards and scrapbooking products published by it takes two. Kimberly and her husband, Tim, have four children and live in Le Sueur, Minnesota. They also care for 2 needy dogs, 2 fluffy cats, 26 alpacas, and 23 chickens.
